The life of Estela de Carlotto, the president of the "Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo". Estela was a middle-class lady who divided her time between her family and her job as a school director, and she lived completely unaware of any political militancy. However, after the kidnapping and murder of her daughter Laura between 1977 and 1978 and the loss of her grandson Guido, held by the kidnappers, her life changed completely.
