Kang Do-chang, a homicide detective at Inchon Metropolitan Police, arrested Lee Dae-chul, who murdered a young woman and a detective five years ago. Just before Lee's execution, someone turns himself in, confessing he kidnapped and murdered Lee's daughter. Meanwhile, the corrupt former district attorney claims Lee's innocence, and Jin Seo-kyung, who broke the DA's wrongdoings, starts gathering information. As evidence and witnesses disappear, she is confident someone is desperate to bury the truth. If Lee's innocent, the police, the DA, and the judge involved in the case must hold responsible. Kang chooses to follow his consciousness and reopens the case. Oh Ji-hyuk, the newest member of Kang's team, cannot understand Kang's feeling guilty. However, he can't help but obsess with the case as evidence reveals that it might connect to his vicious cousin.
